About Your Job:
As a Regional Manager Cargo, you will be responsible for development / implementation of the business plan to maximise cargo revenue/sales within the assigned territory through your exceptional commitment, effective sales strategies and promotion whilst developing new and existing customer base, secure base loads, manage the ad-hoc market and penetrate the local market to develop Qatar Airways Cargo within China & Taiwan.
Targeting the assigned new
regions to develop and market into this role is mainly about maximising
opportunities, you will signal demand to develop the overall portfolio and help
create “Products” to suit the special needs of the customers and gain
trust in the territory as well as globally by having a constant interaction with
main customers, suppliers and other external and internal stakeholders. This
will also include the profitability plan to recognize the changing needs of the
service and make recommendations to the management for improvements to ensure
continued growth in the region.
This role is of a senior nature
and there exists within the role a significant scope to influence the future
success of the business. You will initiate and steer all activities to optimize
cargo revenue production, which includes managing the cost budget and
safeguarding of revenue integrity. Further to this you will research and
monitor competitors’ pricing, product development and promotional activity and
prompt counter action. At the same time you will steer the marketing efforts to
ensure that promotional and advertising campaigns for the region are effective
and within set budgets.
The analytical responsibilities
also include measuring and tracking department performance and efficiency
against key performance indicators and identifying any areas for
improvement. Key elements of this role also include development and
management of the team to reach their potential, including creating succession
plans to allow business continuity.
About You:
To be successful in this role,
you must be a graduate or equivalent level, with a minimum of 8 years relevant
experience, out of which 5 years in a managerial position leading a commercial
team. Training in the field of Sales Development, Cargo Market development or
Management Development is preferable.
Knowledge of relevant key
industry players / business strategies, industry trends and airfreight products
are an essential requirement for the job. Applicants must possess strong
leadership, negotiation and interpersonal skills, have the ability to analyze
market data and must have affinity with the modern IT landscape.
In this position you will
provide leadership on a strategic level and must have the ability to structure
and implement business and marketing plans. Additionally you should be a
confident and enthusiastic communicator with strong organizational and
managerial skills. Furthermore a good command of written and spoken English is
a must
